7QC Tools (7 Quality Control Tools)

The 7QC tools, also known as the Seven Basic Tools of Quality, are a set of simple yet powerful tools that are used to solve quality-related problems in a systematic and structured way. Here are the 7QC tools and their graphical representation:

  1. Check Sheet: A check sheet is a simple form that is used to collect data in a structured way. It typically consists of a table with rows and columns, where each row represents a specific item to be checked and each column represents a specific characteristic to be measured.

  2. Pareto Chart: A Pareto chart is a bar graph that is used to show the relative frequency or size of problems or issues. The bars are arranged in descending order of frequency or size, with the most significant problems shown on the left-hand side.

  3. Cause-and-Effect (Fishbone) Diagram: A cause-and-effect diagram, also known as a fishbone diagram, is a graphical tool used to identify the possible causes of a problem. It resembles a fish skeleton, with the problem shown at the head and the possible causes shown as the bones.

  4. Histogram: A histogram is a bar graph that is used to show the distribution of a set of data. The bars are arranged to show the frequency of the data in each interval or category.

  5. Scatter Diagram: A scatter diagram is a graph that is used to investigate the relationship between two variables. The data is plotted as points on a graph, with one variable shown on the horizontal axis and the other on the vertical axis.

  6. Control Chart: A control chart is a graph that is used to monitor a process over time. It typically includes a centerline that represents the average value of the process, as well as upper and lower control limits that represent the acceptable range of variation.

  7. Flowchart: A flowchart is a graphical representation of a process that shows the sequence of steps involved in completing a task or achieving a goal. It typically includes shapes that represent different types of activities or decisions, and arrows that show the flow of the process
