Conditional Formatting in Excel is a feature that allows you to format cells based on specific conditions or criteria. This feature helps to highlight important information, identify trends, and make data analysis more efficient.

Conditional Formatting is applied to a range of cells, and it can be based on a variety of criteria, including cell value, text, date, and formula. Here are the steps to apply Conditional Formatting:

  1. Select the cells that you want to format.

  2. Click on the "Conditional Formatting" option in the "Home" tab of the Excel ribbon.

  3. Select the type of formatting that you want to apply. There are several pre-defined formatting options available, such as highlighting cells that contain specific text, values above or below a certain threshold, or duplicate values.

  4. Set the criteria for the formatting. Depending on the type of formatting that you have selected, you may need to enter specific values or formulas to define the criteria.

  5. Customize the formatting options. You can choose different formatting options, such as font color, fill color, or border style.

  6. Click "OK" to apply the formatting to the selected cells.

Once the formatting is applied, it will automatically update as the underlying data changes. You can also edit or remove Conditional Formatting by selecting the cells and clicking on the "Conditional Formatting" option again.
